What is the hydraulic press machine?


A hydraulic press is a mechanical press that uses a hydraulic cylinder to generate a compressive force. It uses the hydraulic equivalent of a mechanical lever and was also known as the Bramah press by the English inventor Joseph Bramah. He invented and obtained a patent on this press in 1795. While Bramah (who is also known for his toilet development) installed toilets, studied the existing literature on the movement of fluids and put this knowledge in press development.

The hydraulic press is a type of machine that uses a liquid as a working medium to transfer energy according to the PASCAL principle in order to realize various techniques. In general, the hydraulic press has three parts: the machine (central computer), the power system and the hydraulic control system.

The hydraulic press (also called hydraulic oil press) is a machine that uses the static pressure of the liquid to treat products made of metal, plastic, rubber, wood and powder. It is often used in pressing processes, such as pressing, stamping, cold extrusion, straightening, bending, clamping, sheet stretching, powder metallurgy, pressing, etc.

China’s first 30,000-ton forging press is blocked for almost 40 years after its construction in 1973. Until the last two years, several large presses have been developed explosively.

In 2012 alone, 30,000 tons, 40,000 tons and 80,000 tons of stamping presses were manufactured. The 80,000-ton hydraulic press has broken the Soviet Union’s world record for 51 years.

The forging press is mainly used to manufacture forged parts of high strength titanium / aluminum alloy in the fields of iron and steel. Aerospace, nuclear energy, petrochemical and others.
